Season Highlights

Team Season Highlights: 

The Cal Equestrian Team won reserve champion at 5 out of 7 shows, and finished the season as Reserve Champion in the region.

7 of our riders have achieved the 2018 IHSA “All Academic Award”: Paige Downie, Emilia Bulfone, Anna Hirschorn, Julia Lewis, Jade Refuerzo, Katie Willett, and Alexa Frederick

Individual Season Highlights:

Over fences and on the flat high point riders: 

Hannah Clevenger finished the season as 3rd in the region.

Jade Refuerzo finished the season as 5th in the region.

Paige Downie finished the season in 8th in the region.

Emilia Bulfone finished the season in 17th.

Our equitation on the flat high point riders: 

Alexa Frederick finished 7th in the region on the flat.

Yongjun Song finished 13th in the region on the flat. 

Kristal Celik finished 15th in the region on the flat. 

Anna Hirschorn finished 17th in the region on the flat.

Updates

Spring Semester: (UC Berkeley January 27-28 & Stanford February 3-4)  Jr. Jade Refuerzo won champion at UC Berkeley’s home show January 27. Fr. Paige Downie won champion at Stanford February 4. Sr. Hannah Clevenger won reserve champion on the second day of UC Berkeley’s home show; also qualified for regionals and zones on the flat.

11/12/17 Another great day at Stanford. Freshman Paige Downie finished as Reserve High Point Rider winning her Novice flat class, while Junior Alexa Frederick earned first in Walk/Trot. Additionally, the team sent off seniors Hayley Gaydos and Kristal Celik as they are graduating this fall.

11/11/17 A very successful first day at Stanford, especially for senior Kristal Celik who won beginning Walk/Trot/Canter and junior Jade Refuerzo who won Novice on the flat. Congrats to all of our riders for working so hard and attaining Reserve High Point Team for the third show in a row!
